US regional carrier ExpressJet yesterday launched a web site for its new commercial subsidiary that details a network heavily concentrated with services between California and the country’s southwest region.
The airline, ExpressJet Airlines, is expected to launch service on 2 April, and will initially serve 24 destinations with its fleet of 44 Embraer ERJ-145 jets. Sneak pictures of the livery being applied were posted on aviation blog site Aviation and Travel Industry News late last month (pictured below).

Few further details are available, and ExpressJet did not respond to repeated attempts for a comment. However the new web site, does indicate that the airline will rely on California and Texas for a large proportion of its revenue.
A route map shows that in addition to 14 services from Ontario, California, around 35mi (55km) from Los Angeles, the new regional carrier will operate nine routes from San Diego and a further seven from California’s capital city Sacramento.
Austin and San Antonio, Texas will have nine and eight routes, respectively.
Kansas City, Missouri; New Orleans, Louisiana; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and Tuscon, Arizona also feature heavily in the route network, which reaches as far north as Spokane, Washington and as far south as Corpus Christ, Texas.
The airline also plans to operate into Jacksonville, Florida from four destinations.
Reservations can be booked only by telephoning the airline directly, although the web site says other booking methods will soon be available.
