Passengers waiting for this morning's Alitalia shuttle between Naples international airport and the airline's Milan Linate hub were left puzzled and annoyed after hearing the latest reason to cancel a flight; the crew bus had been held-up by modern day highwaymen.

Flight AZ 1278 was scheduled to leave the airport in Capodichino at 06:30, arriving into Linate at 07:50.  However, Italian newspaper La Repubblica reports on its website that the bus was hijacked and the crew demanded money with menaces.

However, the car jackers had to make do with a Rolex watch and little under €150 ($190) in cash from the domestic flight crew. Two flight attendants were injured, the report goes on.
