Poland's armament inspectorate has chosen PZL-Swidnik to modernise the nation's army aviation W-3 Sokol medical evacuation helicopters.

Two currently W-3A-standard aircraft will be fully modernised to a W-3AE configuration by 30 November 2013, with the work worth almost zlotych (Zl) 3.5 million ($1.1 million). Enhancements include installing external lights compatible with night vision goggle use, and adding new racks to carry medical equipment. The second rotorcraft will also receive additional equipment worth Zl 400,000.

Additionally, one of the Polish navy's W-3WARM Anakonda search and rescue helicopters is to be fitted with automatic identification system equipment for Zl 845,000.
