Middle Eastern carrier Qatar Airways is to increase capacity on its Doha-Budapest service by adding three additional weekly flights from 14 September, making it a daily service.

The service currently operates via the Romanian capital Bucharest, but in future it will be de-linked and will run as a non-stop route. It uses Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, says the airline.

In addition as part of an expansion in Eastern Europe, it is will start serving the Doha-Sofia route via Bucharest on 14 September.

Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways' chief executive officer says: "We have seen very strong inbound and outbound demand for our Hungarian service since our launch just over two months ago."
