Qatar Airways will launch nonstop passenger services from Doha to Chicago O'Hare International airport on 10 April 2013.
The carrier says it will deploy its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the once daily service.
It already operates twice weekly freighter services from the Qatari capital to Chicago.
In April, chief executive Akbar Al Baker promised a doubling of the airline's US operations with new flights to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Detroit.
