Quest Aircraft is continuing to strengthen its sales and marketing effort for the Kodiak single-engined turboprop, with the appointment of US business aviation services company Muncie Aviation as its 13th dealership for the 10-seat type.

Muncie will sell, promote, distribute and support the €1.9m ($2.1m) Kodiak throughout the US Mid-Atlantic states, including Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Its territory will also cover the Midwestern states of Indiana and Ohio.

Quest began to establish a global dealership network in 2011 in an attempt to grow its share of a niche, yet crowded, aircraft sector. Prior to this, the airframer’s headquarters in Sandpoint, Idaho, was home to its sales and marketing effort.

The Kodiak competes with well-established brands such as Cessna's Caravan family, the Daher TBM 900, Pilatus PC-12NG and Piper M500 Meridian.

Quest has delivered 151 Kodiaks worldwide since the first aircraft entered service in 2007, and expects to ship another two in the remainder of this year. Sales are evenly split between utility, passenger and VIP owners/operators, it says.

The Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-64-powered type is now certificated in 19 countries, Quest adds, and several other validations are imminent.
