An Antonov An-24 turboprop operated by Russian regional carrier Katekavia has crashed near the northern Siberian town of Igarka.

Eleven of the fifteen people on board were killed in the crash, say reports quoting Russia's emergencies ministry.

The aircraft was reportedly flying from the city of Krasnoyarsk to Igarka, and crashed as it was preparing to land.

Katekavia, based in Krasnoyarsk, operates 12 An-24s, according to its website. It operates flights to destinations around Krasnoyarsk.
