Irish budget carrier Ryanair is to broaden its Baltic operations by opening services from the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, transferring some routes from its Lithuanian base at Kaunas.

It will operate five new routes from Vilnius. Ryanair will operate new services to Dublin, London Stansted and Rome Ciampino and shift from Kaunas its connections to Barcelona Girona and Milan Bergamo.

The transfer is to allow Ryanair to open new routes to Greece from Kaunas, says the carrier.

From Vilnius, London will be served daily, while Dublin, Bergamo and Rome will be flown three times per week. Barcelona Girona will be operated twice-weekly.

Ryanair opened its Kaunas base - its first in Eastern Europe - in May last year. The new routes from Vilnius will open in May this year.
