Saudi Arabian Airlines is expecting to complete cabin interior modification work on its Boeing 777-200ER fleet this year.
The Jeddah-based carrier is upgrading the interiors of 22 aircraft from its fleet of 23 of the twin-engined type.
Eight feature a new 'Business Market' configuration, with 24 first-class, 38 business-class and 170 economy-class seats. Seats have been provided by Avio Interiors.
The others have a high-density layout for 14 business-class and 327 economy passengers.
Saudi Arabian's first-class seats have 15.4in (39cm) in-seat video screens, while the business-class cabin has seats with 12.1in screens, for the Thales TopSeries i5000 in-flight entertainment system. Computer power is provided for both cabins.
The economy cabins have 8.9in video screens in-seat.
"Modifications on this scale are generally scheduled to coincide with required heavy maintenance checks," says Boeing.
"However, under this modification programme the majority of the fleet already has been modified and returned to service. The modifications are scheduled to be completed in 2011."
Saudi Arabian is modernising its entire fleet, through the acquisition of Airbus A330s and A320s as well as Boeing 777-300ER and 787 aircraft.
