Singapore-based BOC Aviation and Air New Zealand (ANZ) have signed agreements for the long-term lease of two new Airbus A320-200 aircraft.

Powered by International Aero Engines 2527-A5 SelectOne engines, the aircraft will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011.

ANZ will operate them on domestic routes, says BOC Aviation, which is leasing to the airline for the first time.

"Our fleet strategy is based on a combination of owned and leased aircraft to give us the flexibility to adjust to market conditions. We are pleased to partner BOC Aviation in our fleet renewal program to deliver the high standards of air travel service that our customers have been accustomed to," says Rob McDonald, ANZ's chief financial officer.
