Boeing rolled out the first F-15SG fighter for Singapore during a 3 November ceremony at its final assembly centre in St Louis, Missouri. The company is building 24 F-15SGs for the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

The programme's first aircraft now enters a one-year flight-test period, while the first production example is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2009.

An evolution of the US Air Force's F-15E Strike Eagle, the F-15SG includes the Raytheon APG-63(V)3 active electronically scanned array radar, Lockheed Martin Sniper targeting pod, infrared search and track sensor and reportedly an Israeli-supplied electronic warfare system. Singapore is considering the F-15SG for a follow-on buy, but may hold a second competition.
