Singapore's Tiger Airways is looking at flying to more destinations in India.
The low-cost carrier might start flights to destinations in southern India, such as Trivandrum, Kochi and Trichy, says Tiger.
"We are also exploring the potential of serving more travellers between India and Singapore, it adds. As the world's second most populous country, India is a natural consideration for us to expand our low-fare offering," says Tiger's CEO Tony Davis.
The airline plans to commence discussions with India's airports and authorities, he adds.
If it goes ahead, Tiger will compete against SilkAir on the Singapore-Trivandrum and Singapore-Kochi routes and Air India Express on the Singapore-Trichy route, Flightglobal's ACAS database shows.
Tiger already operates to Chennai and Bangalore.
Its rival AirAsia operates to Kochi, Trichy and Trivandrum from Kuala Lumpur. It announced in January that it would launch six new routes to India later this year.
