Sikorsky plans to establish an office in Malaysia as a part of its plans to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.

Malaysia is centrally located in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and has one of the strongest aerospace markets in region, said Linda Scott, general manager for the company's Southeast Asia office.

She added that opening an office in Malaysia will allow the United Technologies Corp subsidiary to be best located to support all of its Southeast Asian customers.

ASEAN has always been an important market for Sikorsky and the aerospace industry at large, said Christophe Nurit, Sikorsky vice-president of sales for Asia.
