US regional airline group SkyWest has placed a firm order for four Bombardier CRJ700 NextGen regional jets, in a deal that carries a list value of about $148 million.

The aircraft will be flown by SkyWest Airlines under the Delta Connection banner in a dual-class configuration with 65 seats, says Bombardier.

At present, SkyWest Airlines and its sister airline, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, operate the world's largest fleet of CRJs with some 406 CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 regional jets.

"This order re-affirms our complete confidence in Bombardier's CRJ regional jets," says SkyWest chairman and CEO Jerry Atkin in a statement.
