Southwest Airlines has named Brian Hirshman as vice president of maintenance and engineering.
Hirshman will lead a team of Southwest executives including Jim Sokol, vice president of maintenance operations, Dave Fischer, senior director of planning and engineering and Peggy Hain, senior director of quality, says Southwest.
Hirshman, who has been in the airline maintenance industry for more than 20 years, worked in the consulting and investment banking field providing professional services to airline operators and MRO organisations.
