Turkish Technic has won a five-year extension to its landing-gear repair and overhaul deal with Indian carrier SpiceJet.

The Turkish Airlines maintenance subsidiary says the contract, which now runs until 2018, spans SpiceJet's entire Boeing 737-800 fleet.

Flightglobal's Ascend Online database shows that the Chennai-based carrier operates 36 737-800s and has another 18 on order. Its inventory also includes six 737-900ERs and 15 Bombardier Q400 turboprops.

Work on the 23 sets of landing gear covered by the contract extension will be carried out at Turkish Technic's Istanbul facilities, says the MRO provider.
