Dubai Aerospace Enterprise subsidiary StandardAero has won authorisation to offer maintenance on Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127M turboprop engines powering ATR 42/72-500/600 models.
The PW127M is an evolution of the PW127E and F programmes, and is powering the new -600 variant of the ATR-42/72 that begins flight testing next month. StandardAero currently maintains the E and F models at its facility in the Netherlands.
StandardAero has also won final certification for maintenance, repair and overhaul of the Hamilton Sundstrand APS 2300 auxiliary power unit (APU) featured on Embraer E-170/190 family aircraft.
In 2008 StandardAero reached an "authorized repair facility" agreement with Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems (HSPS) for the 2300. StandardAero completed work on the first engine, and demonstrated to regulatory authorities the test cell is now fully functional and correlated.
In additional to having access to HSPS 2300 approved maintenance data, components and technical support, final certification allows StandardAero to perform HSPS warranty repairs on the units.
