UK operator Synergy Aviation is seeking to treble its business aircraft fleet over the next two years by opening up its management offering for the first time to owners of large-cabin jets.
Speaking to FlightGlobal on 13 September at London's Air Charter Expo, Dave Edwards, Synergy director and co-owner, said that after 12 years focused at the lower end of the charter market, the company “is now looking to offer a full breadth of business aircraft”, targeting a 15-strong fleet.
Synergy, based at Fairoaks airport in the south of England, currently owns and manages three Beechcraft King Air B200 twin-engined turboprops and two Cessna Citation Mustang entry-level business jets.

As a former senior executive with the leading VIP operators Qatar Executive and Gama Aviation, Edwards is confident Synergy can make its mark at the higher, and more financially lucrative, end of the business jet charter and management market.
“There are around 1,200 midsize and large-cabin business jets in Europe, and plenty of owners looking for a bespoke management offering,” says Edwards, who officially joined the company on 1 September, along with Tom Wells, Gama’s former managing director for Europe.
Wells says the new management structure opens “a new chapter” for Synergy. He adds: “Whilst there is much talk of consolidation in our industry,” in reference to the recent wave of acquisitions by major players such as Luxaviation and Gama, “we are very aware that there remains a strong market for tailored aircraft management solutions and specialist aviation services. Synergy is ideally placed to capture those opportunities.”
