India’s Taneja Aerospace & Aviation has acquired a Cessna Citation CJ2+ and Citation XLS for delivery in 2007. Taneja, which is Cessna’s sales agent in India, says it will launch a business jet charter service using the newly acquired aircraft if it cannot sell them to Indian corporations over the next year.

Taneja has sold six Cessnas to Indian corporations since early 2005. The company already operates a corporate charter service using 11 Partenavia P68C turboprops. Taneja built the P68Cs at its factory outside Bangalore and currently manufactures Thorp T-211 two-seat trainers for Dallas-based IndUS Aviation and the indigenous Hansa two-seat trainer for India’s National Aerospace Laboratories.
