Tecnam has secured a repeat order for four P2006Ts from US-based IASCO Flight Training (IFT), as part of its fleet replacement programme.

The aircraft will join IFT's fleet of piston-singles and twins, which numbers more than 30, including two P2006Ts, to provide multi-engine flight training at its campus at Redding Municipal airport in California. An order for two more of the high-wing, Rotax 912S-powered aircraft is planned.

IFT says the P2006Ts will replace its fleet of out-of-production Beechcraft Duchesses.

Tecnam has delivered over 200 P2006Ts since the first example entered service eight years ago as Tecnam’s only in-production piston-twin. The clean-sheet P2012 Traveller will bring this line-up to two when it enters service in 2019.

The Italian airframer introduced the next generation P2006T in April, featuring the Garmin G1000NXi flightdeck and a host of interior upgrades, including a new seat design with electronic switches to control height and comfort, and an improved lighting system.
