The Thai Airways board has approved long-term financing proposals for the three A380 aircraft the airline will receive this year.

The Star Alliance carrier has appointed BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking in consortium with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank as a financial institution for one of the its A380 aircraft.

In addition, Citibank along with Bayerische Landesbank and Natixis Transport Finance will provide funding for the other two A380 aircraft.

The airline is in process of obtaining loan guarantees for these aircraft from the European export credit agencies (ECA).
