The Lockheed Martin-Boeing team developing the F-22 fighter for the US Air Force has released the first three-dimensional images of the aircraft's main and side weapons bays. Left: the main weapons bay, with six AIM-120C AMRAAMs, although it can also accommodate the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and the AIM-9 Sidewinder. The image shows the composite bifold doors in grey and the hydraulically-operated door-drive system, and the door-idler arms in light green. The other parts are colour coded for easy identification on computer screens. Cooling ducts are purple; electrical cables white; hydraulic lines blue; fuel-line fittings yellow; the environmental-control system duct work is red; and the inlet ducts are olive green.
