Turkish Airlines' MRO arm has expanded its partnership with Honeywell Aerospace to cover depot-level MRO services across the US manufacturer's 131-9B auxiliary power units on Boeing 737 narrowbodies.
"As the reliance on MRO facilities for faster turnaround times increases, airlines are increasingly looking to repair and replace components during scheduled checks," says Ahmet Karaman, chief executive of Turkish Technic. "Under this contract, we will be able to provide faster servicing for aircraft at Istanbul Atatürk and Sabiha Gokcen airports across a greater range of components."
Honeywell's president for Turkey and Central Asia, Orhan Genis, says the nation is "one of Europe's fastest-growing hubs for global air traffic" and that "its aerospace industry must continue to grow its engineering capabilities to support passenger demand".
