Airbus' latest backlog figures show that the airframer has booked an order for 52 A320 aircraft, but the customer remains unidentified.

The order, concluded on 30 November, is attributed to an "undisclosed customer" and takes Airbus' gross order total for 2009 to 225.

Once cancellations are taken into account the manufacturer achieved net orders for 194 aircraft to the end of November.

Last month's mystery order took Airbus' total for the month - which included deals sealed at the Dubai Air Show - to 74.

Among these were two Airbus A380s for Air Austral, 12 A350-900s for Ethiopian Airlines, and five A330s - two freighters among them - for Turkish Airlines.

One private customer placed an order for an A340-500 in November.
