Russian carrier UTAir has selected the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aricraft to replace its fleet of Tupolev Tu-134 twin-jets.
The airline says it has completed a tender to choose a successor to the Tu-134 and states that the committee overseeing the process has settled on the 75-seat and 95-seat variants of the Superjet.
UTAir says it considered 15 different aircraft types in the 75- to 80-seat and 100- to 105-seat ranges.
It states that the Superjet 100 met the "relevant technical and economic requirements" of the carrier.
UTAir operates a mixed fleet of Soviet-era Tupolev Tu-154s, Tu-134s and Antonov An-24s, alongside Boeing 757 and 737, Bombardier CRJ and ATR aircraft.
