Lufthansa welcomed the first passenger-configured Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental to its Frankfurt base on 2 May. Flightglobal was there to tour the aircraft – which is the first to be equipped with the German flag-carrier's all-new business class – and talk to Lufthansa Passenger Airline CEO Carsten Spohr about the capabilities of the stretched Jumbo.
The carrier will take delivery of its first five 747-8Is this year, out of a total of 20 on firm order.
