Central European budget carrier Wizz Air has inked a five-year agreement to use Pratt & Whitney's EcoPower engine wash system on its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

The maintenance firm said that the carrier will perform the washes at Budapest International Airport. In addition, the airline will have a mobile wash capability to perform washes at other airports within its route network.

Wizz Air powerplant manager Simon Mermod said: "Prior to using EcoPower engine wash, we used the conventional shepherd's hook method to wash our engines."
