Xiamen Airlines will begin serving the United States from 26 September.

The carrier will operate a Xiamen-Shenzhen-Seattle service, using Boeing 787s, says China Southern Air Holdings, which owns 51% of Xiamen Airlines.

This will be the airline’s fourth long-haul route, besides its Fuzhou-Sydney, Xiamen-Amsterdam, and Xiamen-Sydney services.

FlightMaps Analytics shows that Xiamen Airlines will be the only operator on the Shenzhen-Seattle route. It will compete however compete with Hainan Airlines between Xiamen and Shenzhen.

FlightMaps shows that Seattle is connected to China through Delta Air Lines and Hainan Airlines, where they both operate the Beijing-Seattle and Shanghai-Seattle services.
