Airbus does not anticipate any delays "at this stage" to China Southern Airlines' Rolls-Royce Trent 900-powered A380, which is due to enter the carrier's fleet in mid-2011.
Speaking at the Airshow China in Zhuhai, Airbus China President Laurence Barron says the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 issue is not expected to affect the delivery of the five A380s the Guangzhou-based carrier has on order.
Rolls-Royce and Airbus are reportedly looking into replacing up to 80 of Trent 900 engines following the 4 November uncontained failure aboard a Qantas A380.
Of the 38 A380s in service, 20 are powered by Rolls-Royce engines.
