Aircelle and Xian Aircraft (XAIC) have formed a new joint venture to build and assemble nacelle components in China.

The plant in Xian wil manufacture the nacelles supplied by Naxcelle, the joint venture between Aircelle and GE Aviation's Middle River Aircraft Systems, for the Commercial Aircraft Corp of China's C919 narrowbody.

The joint venture will produce thrust reversers and doors subassemblies. The assembly opportunities will include the build-up of thrust reversers, air inlets and fan cowls, says Aircelle.

"Aircelle's planned new joint venture with XAIC will open exciting industrial opportunities that begin with the C919, and which could expand in the future with other nacelle activity for Aircelle, its MRAS partner, and Nexcelle," says Vincent Mascre, Aircelle chairman and CEO.
