One of the oldest brands in aerospace is here to make a bigger name for itself in the emerging Asian market with its largest presence yet at the show.

Curtiss Wright - which dates its history back to the Wright brothers - is exhibiting the product range of its Controls division, which includes everything from joysticks to solenoids and embedded computers.

Although the business has exhibited at Asian Aerospace before, this year it has one of the most prominent stands on the floor.

Dan Haines, director of sales for Asia Pacific, says the potential of the market in the region justifies its sized-up presence.

"We have a well-known brand and a good relationship with major OEMs like Boeing, but there are lots of smaller players here who don't know who we are. There is a big aftermarket attendance here, with a lot of guys in the enhancement and maintenance sectors," he says.

The division's product portfolio is also so wide that even Curtiss Wright's customers are not aware about everything it does, he says: "We are so diversified we need to get the message out about our range of products."
