Russian Helicopters (H1/E10) is displaying a full scale mock-up of the developmental Kamov KA-62 transport helicopter at its stand.

The type, a commercial variant of the KA-60 military utility helicopter, is likely to have its first flight later in 2012 or in early 2013. In a transport role, it will have a capacity of 13 passengers in addition to the pilot and co-pilot. In a high density layout, it can carry 17 passengers.

Aside from the transport role, Russian Helicopters says the KA-62 is suitable for emergency medical services, search and rescue, VIP transport and firefighting.

It sees the type competing with the AgustaWestland AW139 and Sikorsky S-76. The company already has orders for the type, but declined to comment on specific customers or the number of KA-62s that have been ordered.
