An aircraft being used to transport United Nations staff has crashed while trying to land in poor conditions at Kinshasa International Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The UN says that 29 of its staff were on board along with four crew members and had been travelling from the north-eastern city of Kisangani.
Media reports repeated on the UN website indicate that the crash occurred about 13.00 and that there was torrential rain in Kinshasa at the time.
UN staff are at the scene to assist with rescue efforts and investigate the crash, it says.
