Australian flight school Flight Training Adelaide could purchase up to 26 Diamond DA40 CS light aircraft, with four aircraft to arrive in mid-2012.

The school has committed to eight aircraft with options for 18 more, said Australia sales agent Hawker Pacific. The 18 additional aircraft could be delivered in 2013-2014.

"Flight Training Adelaide selected the Diamond DA40 for its demanding aviation training programme, quite simply because they were identified as the best aircraft for the job," said Hawker Pacific senior vice-president Tony Jones.

"They are modern, well-equipped and represent a great training aircraft package. This is a milestone deal for Hawker Pacific and further entrenches the Diamond as the aircraft of choice for training schools both in the region and around the world."

Flight Training Adelaide now has 42 aircraft across five types, including seven DA42 L360s.

The DA40 is a four-seat, single-engined, all composite aircraft with a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit.
