Chinese domestic carrier Air Changan has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to operate international flights.

The CAAC states in a notice that the carrier, a Hainan Airlines subsidiary, applied to change its operating scope from domestic passenger and cargo services, to international flights to nearby countries.

The notice did not state which countries Air Changan intends to operate to.

The CAAC is inviting all relevant parties to submit their comments, if any, on Air Changan’s application before 24 October.

Cirium schedules data indicates that the Xian-based carrier flies to 44 points across the country. It operates a fleet of 11 Boeing 737-800s, with orders for two 737 Max 8 aircraft.
