The joint venture between All Nippon Airways, United Airlines, and Continental Airlines will commence on 1 April.

"Following the granting of anti-trust immunity by Japan and U.S. authorities, ANA Group will commence its joint venture with United Airlines and Continental Airlines on trans-pacific routes on 1 April 2011," says ANA.

Under the joint venture, the three Star Alliance members will integrate their international and domestic networks, "along with common fares, and adjustments to their respective timetables."

ANA adds that under the Star Alliance partnership the three carriers already work closely together through code sharing, mileage alliances, and the co-location of departure terminals.
