South Korea's Asiana Airlines will retrofit its entire fleet of narrow bodied aircraft with Panasonic Avionics eFX in-flight entertainment systems, upgrading the entertainment options for passengers on short and medium haul flights.

The first two aircraft to be equipped with the new IFE system are two Airbus A321-200s that are being delivered this month, says Asiana.

Over the next year, a total of 29 additional aircraft will have the new IFE system installed. These include five Boeing 737s, 11 A320s, and 13 A321s.

Asiana will carry out the retrofit itself when the aircraft undergo routine maintenance.

The upgrade will see every seat provided with audio video-on-demand, electrical terminals, and USB ports.

Earlier this year, the South Korean carrier completed a project that upgraded IFE for its 747s, 777s, and A330s.
