Airbus Military has made its first sale to Cameroon, with the nation's air force to receive one CN235 medium transport under a deal announced on 6 June.

Flightglobal's MiliCAS database records the Cameroon air force's current air transport inventory as comprising three Lockheed Martin C-130Hs and one Israel Aircraft Industries-built Arava 202.

Antonio Rodriguez Barberán, Airbus Military's senior vice-president commercial, in late May revealed that the company was expecting to receive an order for an undisclosed number of CN235s from the African nation. "We are optimistic that its in-service performance will lead to further orders from Cameroon," he says.

The new order takes Airbus Military's combined order book for the CN235 and larger C295 to 25 aircraft so far this year.
