Cathay Pacific Airways plans to launch flights on the Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Hong Kong route.

Jeddah flights will commence on 25 October and operate four times a week via Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, says the Hong Kong carrier.

The service will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft in a two class configuration.

Cathay's Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-Hong Kong service will become a daily service on 1 August, up from 5 flights a week now.

"The airline has maintained its network integrity during the recent downturn though overall capacity has been reduced and services adjusted according to demand," says Cathay.

Routes that it says have seen temporary frequency reductions included Brisbane, Australia to San Francisco, USA and Hong Kong to Paris, France.
