Airlines in the Asia-Pacific received 46 of the 105 new commercial airliners delivered during October, with China and India taking the lion’s share of new aircraft.

North American and European airlines followed with each region taking 18 new aircraft, according to Cirium fleets data. Latin American airlines took nine new aircraft, Middle Eastern airlines eight, while African airlines also took eight.

Although the Asia-Pacific’s 46 deliveries in October were an improvement from 33 in September, numbers were sharply down from 80 deliveries in October 2018. This is attributable to the absence of Boeing 737 Max deliveries in the region amid the global grounding of the type. Boeing has delivered no 737 airliners into the region since June.
