Colombia has signed a fresh order for one more C295 medium transport, with the new deal to increase its air force's fleet of the Airbus Military type to six aircraft.

Announced on 14 January, the latest order follows Colombia's commitment last September to acquire a fifth C295, which Airbus Military at that time said was due for delivery in February 2013.

Four C295s are already in operational service with the Colombian air force, which took delivery of its existing assets in 2008 and 2009, as recorded by Flightglobal's MiliCAS database. Duties undertaken by the fleet include military transport and humanitarian relief missions, Airbus Military says.
