Airbus Corporate Jets has given its own Airbus Corporate Jet Centre an award to mark its first 10 completions. But the accolade is not as incestuous as it sounds. ACJC in Toulouse is one of nine completion centres in the ACJ network and every one is honoured when it hits double figures. It is the third to reach the milestone after Germany's Lufthansa Technik and Associated Air Center in the USA. The total number of completion centres is even higher - 22 - if work undertaken by ACJC's predecessor, EADS Sogerma, is taken into account. Chief executive Benoit Defforge says ACJC, set up almost five years ago, has "continued to build its reputation by setting new standards in luxury, excellence and innovation".

Defforge says Airbus Corporate Jet Centre has now actually delivered 11 ACJs, with a 12th scheduled for delivery in July. It has built up to a completion rate of three to four aircraft per year, depending on the complexity of the project, a rate that its original business plan envisaged. It has a backlog of five aircraft.
