Greek VIP charter operator and management company GainJet is basing a new medevac operation at London Stansted, using a Bombardier Challenger 604 registered under its Irish subsidiary’s air operator’s certificate.
The aircraft is configured as an air ambulance and can also accommodate up to six family members, as well as medical staff. It will be based, with its crew, at the airport’s Inflite Jet Centre fixed base operation.

“Our mission is to provide a reliable medevac service based in London that is readily available to serve the European market. We’ve been working non-stop over the past six months establishing this operation, training the dedicated staff, and putting everything in place to ensure we can provide a smooth medevac service.” says GainJet Ireland chief executive Capt Dimitrios Kehayas.
GainJet also has a medevac operation in Kuwait operating with another Challenger 604. GainJet chief executive Capt Ramsey Shaban says the company’s strategy is to become a leader in medevac. “We noticed a lack of long range medevac aircraft in the UK and found London Stansted to be an ideal base for this operation.”
The company plans to open a third medevac base, in Kigali, Rwanda, to serve the African market, which GainJet says “does not have easy access to reliable, long-range medevac aircraft”.
GainJet also operates VIP Boeing 757 and 737, Gulfstream G650, G550 and G450 and Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft.
