ExecuJet is marking at MEBAA what it says has been a “successful” first six months for its new FBO at Al Maktoum airport. Since opening the site in June, ExecuJet Middle East has been named preferred ground handler at the airport for the flight support specialist Universal Weather & Aviation.

“Feedback from both customers and crew has been very positive,” says Dumani Ndebele, regional FBO manager. “The four separate lounges almost guarantee our clients’ utmost privacy, and the crew lounge opens directly on to the operations room, so access to ExecuJet staff is never an issue.”

As well as the lounges and crew area, the 600m2 facility includes two transit lounges, showers, a prayer room and onsite customs and immigration. There is 17,000m2 of parking space exclusive to ExecuJet.

Luxaviation-owned ExecuJet also has a large FBO and maintenance hangar at Dubai International, although the city’s authorities are trying to encourage as much business aviation activity as possible to relocate to Al Maktoum – or DWC – as slot capacity becomes increasingly restricted at Emirates’ base airport.
