A-Group is claiming to be the first Russian FBO operator to exhibit at MEBAA. The business, founded in 2006 and which has facilities at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport and at Pulkovo in St Petersburg, is marketing itself to potential Middle Eastern clients as a gateway to Russia’s two main cities, or as a stopover for those flying to further-flung destinations in the CIS.
A-Group’s FBO at Pulkovo must be one of the industry’s most striking. The terminal building was constructed in 1951 by renowned Soviet architect Alexander Gegello, and although the interior has been considerably modernised, it retains many of its original features, including an ornate ceiling.
