European charter giant Comlux has begun operating its first Boeing Business Jet, a 767 refurbished at the company's own Indianapolis completion center.

The widebody, which will be based in Bahrain, is the first Comlux jet to operate under an Aruba air operators certificate, its fourth national AOC. The Swiss-headquartered company will target government, royal family and head of state clients with the 60-seat aircraft.

Meanwhile, Ali al Naqbi, founder of the Middle East Business Aviation Association, has joined Comlux's board as senior vice president business development. He has been with Abu Dhabi Presidential Flight for 20 years.

Comlux also announced the construction of a four-narrowbody hangar, next to its current Indianapolis facility, to open in the second quarter of 2012.
