Honeywell sees strong growth in China's general and business aviation sectors over the next 10 to 20 years, and aims to build a stronger presence in other regional markets.

The company is, indeed, so optimistic on the outlook of Asia that the challenge lies not in finding opportunities, but in selecting the right opportunities to focus on, said Briand Greer, Honeywell's president of aerospace for the Asia-Pacific.

"We try to help customers fly safer, more efficiently, and greener," said Greer.

He added that the company would like to beef up its presence in other Asia-Pacific markets, namely Thailand and Indonesia.

Greer noted that air traffic management was one of its specific targeted growth areas. One advantage countries in the region have is a relative lack of infrastructure compared with more developed markets, said Greer.
