Boeing finished 2017 with 912 net orders, setting a high bar for Airbus to match, the Seattle-based manufacturer announced on 9 January.

The orders include last-minute contract activity from unidentified customers involving 737s and 787s, as well as an order from Turkish Airlines for three 777s.

Boeing delivered 763 commercial aircraft last year to hit its annual target while introducing the 737 Max into service and ramping up the 787-10 in the production system, the company announces on 9 January.

As expected, deliveries of the 737 family led Boeing’s product totals with 529 aircraft handed over in 2017, averaging about 44 a month.

The 787 achieved 136 deliveries in 2017 as the programme ramped up to a rate of 12 per month. The 787-10 achieved first flight last April from the type’s exclusive final assembly site in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Boeing also delivered 74 777s, 14 747s and 10 767s in 2017.
