A year after placing an order for three Bombardier CRJ900NextGen aircraft along with six options, Pluna Líneas Aéreas Uruguayas has firmed up three options with the manufacturer.

Pluna currently 10-CRJ900NextGen aircraft in its fleet. It received seven aircraft of the type in 2008 following its original order placed in July 2007.

"The Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft has allowed us to increase frequencies and expand to new markets," comments Pluna's CEO Matias Campiani.

"This CRJ NextGen aircraft order from Pluna continues to grow Bombardier's presence in South America," says Bombardier Commercial Aircraft President Gary Scott.

The order increases firm orders for CRJ900/CRJ900 NextGen aircraft to 265 aircraft, of which 244 of these were delivered as of 31 January 2011.
