Aircraft connectivity provider Satcom Direct is introducing its SD PostFlight platform, which it describes as an “industry-first, web-based software, [that] automatically populates the aircraft flight log with all available data relating to flight times and cycle events for each leg of a journey”.
SD says the “automated and timely record-keeping precision” of the new platform – launched in October at the National Business Aviation Association Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada – reduces pilot workload, minimises human error and improves operational efficiency. This is done, SD adds, “by synchronising the flight department, crew and maintenance teams with autonomous flight log information from the aircraft and its mission”.
The aircraft movement data is delivered via SD’s datalink service, called FlightDeck Freedom, and is immediately captured after each flight is added to the aircraft’s SD Pro critical flight information dashboard, providing all flight operation team members with instant, direct access to the data.
“In a digital age, it is essential that we provide our customers with a highly accurate way of collecting, aggregating, and storing flight data so they can intelligently manage data, as well as maintain asset value,” says SD's regional director for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Evgeniy Pashkov.
“By increasing visibility of the aircraft’s actual performance, SD PostFlight can help optimise aircraft usage, improve maintenance efficiency and eliminate errors inevitable from a paper-based record keeping system.”
